The purpose of the experimental vineyard is to select and grow excellent varieties of wine grapes that are well-adapted to the climate and natural environment of Japan and are resistant to diseases and berry cracking. The results of the research can be applied to cross-combination, meristem culture, cell-fusion, cell selection, and gene recombination to produce new varieties of wine grapes and to solve viticultural problems in Japan.
